Canadian Game Awards Announces TIFF Lightbox as Official Venue

Toronto, ON – January 27, 2025 – The Canadian Game Awards (CGA) is excited to announce that TIFF Lightbox, Toronto’s premier cultural venue, is the new official home for the prestigious awards ceremony. Starting with the 2025 edition on February 15th, the CGA will host its annual event at the iconic TIFF Lightbox, marking a new era in the celebration of the Canadian gaming industry.

TIFF Lightbox, a year-round venue with state-of-the-art cinemas and home of the Toronto International Film Festival, will now serve as the backdrop to honour the outstanding accomplishments within Canada’s video game industry. This multi-year agreement underscores a commitment to celebrating the innovation, talent, and creativity that continue to define the gaming community across the country.

Created in 2020, the Canadian Game Awards will host its first official gala at TIFF Lightbox on February 15, 2025, marking the fifth edition of the event. The gala will celebrate the best of the Canadian gaming industry, honoring outstanding game developers, content creators, and esports professionals. In addition to the awards ceremony, attendees will enjoy an exclusive showcase of the industry's achievements and innovations, presented in collaboration with some of the most influential figures in the Canadian gaming world.
